Plan Description
HMO – Signature Value Advantage Plan and Signature Value Plan

Administered by: UnitedHealthcare
A Health Maintenance Organization plan with coverage for in-network care coordinated by your primary care provider.
The Getty offers two HMO plans through UnitedHealthcare: the Signature Value Advantage Plan and the Signature Value Plan.
Aetna HDHP/PPO Plan

Administered by: Aetna
The Aetna plan is a high-deductible health plan that puts you in charge of your spending with a higher deductible and the option to enroll in a tax-free Health Savings Account (HSA). The plan offers cost sharing after you meet the plan deductible, and has a Preferred Provider Organization network.

There are two separate deductibles, one for in-network services and one for out-of-network services. Both deductibles will need to be met whether you utilize an in-network or out-of-network provider. This means that if you meet the deductible with an in-network provider, and then decide to see someone outside the network, the deductible will start over for out-of-network services.

UnitedHealthcare HMO Plans

The UnitedHealthcare HMO Plans — Signature Value Advantage and Signature Value — provide coverage only when you receive care from providers within the HMO network. Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) will coordinate your care.

Do you have a PCP?

Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) will manage your care and provide referrals if you need to see a specialist. Find a Doctor >>.

How it works

You pay nothing for in-network preventive care — it’s covered in full.

icon

Copay

You pay a small fee at the time of service for doctor visits and prescriptions.

icon

Out-of-Pocket Maximum

You're protected by an annual limit on costs the plan pays 100% of any further covered expenses for the rest of the year.

You pay the plan premium from your paycheck to have coverage.

iconMoney-saving Tip

If you have a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA), take advantage of the tax-free savings when paying for care. And, keep in mind, you can only carry over up to $500 of unused money in your FSA to the next year; you will forfeit amounts above $500. So be sure to plan carefully.

Aetna HDHP/PPO Plan

The HDHP is high-deductible medical coverage with a tax-free Health Savings Account (HSA) that helps you save up for future expenses. You may choose any in-network or out-of-network provider each time you receive care. But keep in mind: You will generally pay less when you use in-network providers.

How the PPO works

Deductible

For care that doesn’t charge a copay, such as hospital services, you pay 100% of the costs until you meet the annual deductible.

icon

Coinsurance

After meeting the deductible, you and the plan share the cost of certain services, with the plan paying the majority.

Prescription Drugs

When you enroll in one of the Getty's medical plans, you automatically receive prescription drug benefits through your medical plan.

The cost of your prescription drugs depends on the tier of the medication:

  • Generic — Contain the same active ingredients as their brand-name equivalents and meet the same federal standards for safety, but typically cost significantly less.
  • Brand-Name Formulary — Prescription medications which are included in the formulary at a higher cost than generic.
  • Non-Formulary — Prescription medications not on a prescription plan's formulary may be covered but at the highest cost to you.

Mail order

For ongoing maintenance medication, you can take advantage of the convenience and cost savings of using the mail order program.

Why use mail order:

  • Prescriptions are shipped to you for free — no waiting in line at the pharmacy.
  • You save money with a reduced cost for a three-month supply.
  • You can set up automatic refills.

  • Urgent Care/Walk-in Clinics: If you have an urgent, but non-life-threatening medical issue your local urgent care center may be an effective treatment option and an affordable and more convenient alternative to the ER. Many urgent care centers are open seven days a week — even nights, weekends and holidays — with no appointment necessary. With over 3,000 of these centers to choose from, you’re sure to find one near you.
Get familiar with the urgent care and walk-in clinics in your neighborhood before you need them. Here’s how:
    1. Visit Aetna.
    2. Click on “Find a Doctor.”
    3. Select “Urgent Care Facilities” or “Walk-In Clinics.”
If your medical need is more than urgent — for example, characterized by chest pain, trouble breathing, bad bleeding or other symptoms that are serious or put your life at risk — you should go straight to your local ER.
